Loren Hamilton named Illinois State Crimestoppers Coordinator of the Year

For the second consecutive year, Loren Hamilton of the Jacksonville Police Department has been chosen as Coordinator of the Year by the Illinois State Crimestoppers board of directors.

Hamilton received the honor earlier this month at the association’s annual conference in Bolingbrook, an honor he has been awarded four times.

The award is given to a coordinator that exhibits motivation and professionalism. There are 63 certified Crimestopper programs in Illinois. Hamilton also serves as the state board president.

Hamilton is the police department’s community service officer. His duties include Crimestoppers coordinator for Morgan and Scott counties and co-coordinator of the department’s Citizens Police Academy and Volunteer in Police Service Unit. Hamilton resides in Chapin, where he serves as a village trustee.
